Snap Out has been awarded a grant from the UK’s innovation agency. Through Innovate UK’s Design Foundations competition, Snap Out has won funding to use design thinking to develop early stage digital products that use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to improve business processes. Snap Out will be working with two consultancies on the project: user-centred design experts at FutureGov and Growth Studio, which helps businesses grow quickly and effectively.
Innovate UK, an executive non-departmental public body, drive productivity and growth through supporting businesses realise their potential of new technologies, develop ideas and make these a commercial success. Snap Out is excited to be supported by Innovate UK in using a design thinking approach to product ideation.
Design thinking is an approach to developing and building digital products that bring together business and technical needs with what customers want. The digital world is rapidly expanding, and the need for user-friendly digital products is growing. Using design thinking can enable companies to create and deliver digital products and services that consider the customer’s problem and user experiences.
Aaron Mason, Snap Out’s CEO says, “We understand the importance of building products that align closely with customer’s needs. This exciting programme will help us learn more about the problems and opportunities of our user research group. This is paramount for us to create early-stage products using design thinking and therefore rapidly build products that solve real and evidenced problems.”
The six-month project will end in April 2018 with new products being announced later in 2018. Snap Out will be sharing information on the project and what the team has learned on the website.
